Interlaminar shear properties of polymer matrix composites: Strain rate effect

NK Naik, A Asmelash, VR Kavala, V Ch - Mechanics of Materials, 2007 - Elsevier
Studies are carried out on interlaminar shear behavior of typical polymer matrix composites
under high strain rate shear loading. Torsional split Hopkinson bar (TSHB) apparatus is
used for the studies in the shear strain rate range of 496–1000/s. Experimental details,
specimen configuration and development, data acquisition and processing are presented.
Interlaminar shear strength and shear modulus are presented as a function of shear strain
rate. The results are presented for typical plain weave carbon/epoxy and plain weave E …
