Ionospheric correction of InSAR time series analysis of C-band Sentinel-1 TOPS data

C Liang, P Agram, M Simons… - IEEE Transactions on …, 2019 - ieeexplore.ieee.org
The Copernicus Sentinel-1A/B satellites operating at C-band in terrain observation by
progressive scans (TOPS) mode bring unprecedented opportunities for measuring large-
scale tectonic motions using interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR). Although the
ionospheric effects are only about one-sixteenth of those at L-band, the measurement
accuracy might still be degraded by long-wavelength signals due to the ionosphere. We
implement the range split-spectrum method for correcting ionospheric effects in InSAR with …

Ionospheric correction of InSAR time series analysis of c-band sentinel-1 tops data

EJ Fielding, C Liang, PS Agram… - AGU Fall Meeting …, 2018 - ui.adsabs.harvard.edu
Abstract The Copernicus Sentinel-1A/B satellites operated by ESA bring exciting
opportunities for geoscience, especially for studying large-scale tectonic deformation.
Temporal and spatial variations in the ionosphere commonly produce signals in InSAR
measurements at a variety of length scales and can be one of the major error sources for
measuring deformation, particularly at large length scales. Although the ionospheric impact
at C-band is only one sixteenth of that at L-band, it can still have a significant impact on large …
