… In summary, we present a new class of shape-preserving, loss proof beams both in one
and two dimensions. Based on their loss-proof qualities, such beams offer a wide range of
applications, from non-decaying accelerating plasmons to non-decaying Bessel beams that
allow lossless communication. When propagated through loss-free media, these beams
present exponential growth in intensity, which leads to a variety of interesting effects such
as exponentially growing super-oscillations and beam self-focusing. …
Abstract
We introduce a new class of 1 & 2-dimensional beams that overcome both diffraction & absorption, enabling accelerating plasmons that maintain their intensity profile. In free space these beams exhibit a counterintuitive exponential intensity growth.
