This article explores how medical libraries can often provide their patrons with a comprehensive database search tool using the resources they already pay for combined with free online tools. Institutions subscribing to EBSCOhost databases can employ EBSCO's simple and no-cost Search Box Builder to create a single search box for searching multiple complementary tools. The authors present a case study of one such combined searching tool and a comparison of results from this tool and one of the preeminent discovery services.
