The purpose of this study was to identify and to map the archaeological landscape and
subsurface vestiges of the Roman Empire Limes at Porolissum. he ancient archaeological
remains are nowadays hidden in the semi-natural environment which is mostly covered by
forests and grassland patches. In this cultural landscape, the erosion of ancient structures,
together with the presence of surface rocks in the steep sloped terrain hampered the visual
