The study aimed to analyse newspaper coverage of the Punch, Vanguard, and The Guardian newspapers on the 2023 presidential election campaigns from November 2022 to January 2023. The study was conducted to identify the frequency, examine the prominence given to news stories, and find out the depth of newspaper coverage of issues in the 2023 presidential election campaigns in Nigeria. The design adopted for the study was content analysis. Data were collected with the aid of a coding sheet and coding guide manual. The content of 163 editions of the selected newspaper reports was analysed. Findings from the study revealed that Punch newspaper had the highest frequency of reportage in the report. In addition, all three selected newspapers gave prominence and depth to news stories within the period selected. The study recommends that the newspapers should focus on features, pictures, cartoons, and editorial contents (such as the opinions of the newspapers) in future elections and that the newspapers should give more front-page stories to election campaigns and cover more candidates manifestos, as this will allow Nigerians to have more insight into the plans of the candidates for the country.
