An analysis is presented of the properties of the gravitational waves emitted by a fully
relativistic, non-rotating stellar model, which is pulsating in a non-radial manner. Attention is
focused on quasi-normal-mode pulsations in which the star is excited at some initial moment
of time, it radiates gravita-tional waves thereafter, and these waves gradually damp its nearly
