Abstract
Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a freshwater fish that has cultivated in various countries in the world, including Indonesia, but the need for tilapia is still not fulfilled. One of the obstacles faced is the growth of tilapia, which is less than optimal. Optimization can be done by giving probiotics in the feed, which is useful for improving digestibility and nutrient content in the feed. The study aims to determine the best dose of probiotics to the growth and survival of red tilapia seeds. This research has conducted at the Fisheries Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang in April-June 2018. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with three treatments and four replications with a dose of probiotics 7ml/100g of feed, 9ml/100g of feed, and 11ml/100g of feed. The results showed the growth and conversion ratio of feed red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with the addition of an EM-4 probiotic dose had no significant effect on long growth but had a significant impact on weight growth. The addition of a dose of 11 ml/100g of feed is the best treatment for growth with the best growth rate of 3.59 cm in length, and a weight of 6.98 grams. The highest survival rate is the addition of a dose of 11 ml/100g of feed with a value of 88%.
ABSTRAK
Nila (Oreochromis niloticus) adalah ikan air tawar yang telah dibudidayakan di berbagai negara di dunia, termasuk Indonesia, tetapi kebutuhan akan nila masih belum tercukupi. Salah satu kendala yang dihadapi adalah pertumbuhan ikan nila yang kurang optimal. Salah satu optimasi yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan pemberian probiotik pada pakan yang berguna untuk meningkatkan kecernaan dan kandungan gizi pada pakan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik pemberian probiotik dalam pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan nila merah (Oreochromis niloticus) yang dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Perikanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang pada bulan April–Juni 2018. Penelitian menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan dengan dosis probiotik 7ml/100g pakan, 9ml/100g pakan, dan 11ml/100g pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan rasio konversi pakan ikan nila merah (Oreochromis niloticus) dengan penambahan dosis probiotik EM-4 berpengaruh tidak nyata pada pertumbuhan panjang tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan berat. Penambahan dosis 11 ml/100g pakan merupakan perlakuan terbaik pada pertumbuhan dengan laju pertumbuhan panjang terbaik 3, 59 cm, dan berat 6, 98 gram. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup tertinggi terdapat pada penambahan dosis 11 ml/100g pakan dengan nilai 88%.
