Using students as assessors may provide teachers with a valuable strategy for effectively
and efficiently implementing performance-based assessment tasks. However, of more
importance are the instructional benefits that students may potentially gain as peer
assessors. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects that peer scoring of
performance-based assessment tasks would have on mathematics self-efficacy,
mathematics anxiety, test anxiety, and statistics achievement.
