Finite element models considering the fracture behavior of RIC frames, masonry units,
mortar joints, and frame-panel interface have been developed to study the lateral load
resistance of masonry-infilled RIC frames. The models have been validated with the results
of tests conducted on l/2-scale, single-story, RIC frames infilled with concrete masonry units.
An excellent correlation has been obtained between the experimental and numerical results.
