Mbeya-Pumice is a potential filter media in constructed wetlands. The substrate is light,
porous and volcanic, found near the slopes of Mount Rungwe, collected from a village
known as Mporoto about 20 km from Mbeya town. The study of Mbeya-Pumice's phosphorus
sorption behaviours and properties was carried out in laboratory scale where by 1-2 mm, 2-4
mm and 4-8 mm grains were tested using batch experiments. The results show that Mbeya-
