Seven derivatives of naphthalene diimides, synthesized, have shown similar photophysical
properties. Low fluorescence quantum yields (0.002–0.006) and short fluorescence lifetimes
(5–18ps) have suggested rapid intersystem crossing processes from excited singlet state.
