Samples of spent mushroom substrate collected from temperate and tropical regions and
weathered for different durations were analysed and compared for 17 different physico-
chemical parameters. The samples obtained from 6-, 12-, 24-, 36-and 48 month-old naturally
weathered spent mushroom substrate did not show significant variations in pH, bulk density,
particle density and water holding capacity. Total dissolved solids, conductivity, N, P, K,
calcium, chloride and nitrate content decreased with weathering duration. Significant …
