Placenta-sequestering Plasmodium falciparum parasites causing pregnancy-associated

VSAPAM-expressing patient isolates adhere strongly to the choriocarcinoma cell line BeWo

Abstract
Placenta-sequestering Plasmodium falciparum parasites causing pregnancy-associated malaria express pregnancy-specific variant surface antigens (VSAPAM).
