A novel pulse-width-modulated (PWM) function is introduced for precise position
measurement in an enclosed signal field. An amplitude modulation was used to light the
LEDs for the previous study. However, the transform properties from the driving signal to the
lighting intensities of the LEDs are non-linear, and accurate control of the lighting power was
