Problems of household waste disposal

The study was conducted in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. Multi-stage stratified random
sampling was used to draw a sample of 108 respondents. Based on sample survey, the
study reveals that the garbage disposal outside the house was a major problem. Polythene
was burnt along with other waste in both the communities. Waste recycling awareness was
found to be higher in teaching community as compared to non-teaching community.
