Copper-catalyzed coupling reactions have been recognized as one of the most useful
strategies for the formation of C–N bonds. This perspective gives an overview of the recent
developments in copper-catalyzed electrophilic amination for the construction of various
amines and their derivatives, including the electrophilic amination of various organometallic
reagents and direct C–H bonds as well as the annulative electrophilic amination of o-
alkynylphenols and o-alkynylanilines.
