Road information extraction from high resolution satellite images plays an important role
because roads affect urban and rural land cover and usage. It is difficult and computationally
intensive and expensive to extract roads due to presence of their road like features with
straight edges. In this paper we have used the level segment evolution and local binary
fitting based model for the extraction of roads. This algorithm followed by morphological
operations gives satisfactory results.

Abstract
