Watershed assessments require the integration of point, linear and spatial data. This can
best be accomplished using a geographic information system (GIS). A categorical
classification system was combined with the GIS overlay technique to arrive at a stratification
of a watershed in Nepal, and to scale the soil nutrient information from terraces to
