Farmer groups are small-scale institutions located at the village level and become a forum for the community to learn. There are three main functions of farmer groups, namely learning classes, vehicles for cooperation, and production units. In the farmer learning process, the right method is needed, namely the Participatory Rural Appraisal method. There are two approaches that are often used in PRA, namely the Top Down and Bottom Up Planning systems. This study aims to determine the role of extension workers in community learning and to determine the application of the Participatory Rural Appraisal method in farmer group learning. This research was conducted in the Muntea 3 farmer group, Bantaeng Regency in 2021. Through a qualitative descriptive study in the form of a case study. This research resulted in the application of the PRA method to farmer groups such as mapping village potentials, tracing or identifying villages (transect technique) and preparing seasonal calendars. In addition, researchers develop the role of extension workers as educators, disseminators of information, facilitators, consultants, monitors, and evaluators.
