In this study, the empirical evidence on agricultural prices volatility and on statistical
relationship between selected agricultural products and non-agricultural products is
presented. Moreover, the existing arguments for a speculative commodity bubble were
reviewed with special focus on the impact of institutional investors (such as index funds) on
rising prices of agricultural commodities.
