Splitting tensile strength of lightweight concrete using polypropylene coarse aggregate coated with sand

H Purnomo, RK Putri, P Perdani - IOP Conference Series …, 2019 - iopscience.iop.org
As part of efforts to reduce plastic waste, transformation of it to one concrete component will
be good for the environment. The use of plastic waste as coarse aggregate in concrete
making can provide lighter concrete but with a lower strength compared to normal concrete.
Accordingly, an experimental study of 42 concrete specimens using waste polypropylene
coarse aggregates coated with sand was carried out. Splitting tensile tests were conducted
to cylinder concrete specimens having diameter of 15 cm and depth of 30 cm respectively …

Direct Tensile Strength of Lightweight Concrete using Polypropylene Coarse Aggregate Coated with Sand

H Purnomo, AR Yuandry, E Tjahjono - Key Engineering Materials, 2018 - Trans Tech Publ
Plastic waste used as coarse aggregates in structural concrete is part of efforts to
minimizeenvironmental pollution. It can provide lightweight concrete but with a lower
strength compared tonormal concrete. Accordingly, an experimental study of 12 concrete
specimens using wastepolypropylene coarse aggregates coated with sand was carried out.
Direct tensile tests were conductedto cylinder concrete specimens having diameter of 10 cm
and depth of 20 cm respectively. Threemixtures of sand coated polypropylene coarse plastic …
