Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore personality traits, business environmental factors, and sustainable performance of micro-enterprises within the context of informal micro tea-stall entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. This study realized that personality traits of entrepreneurs, business environment, and sustainable performance in context of Small and Medium Sized and large enterprises is well understood and focused, but less research has been done on microenterprises, especially in IMEs. Thus, this study is an attempt to address this gap in research. Semi-structured interviews were utilized to explore the perceptions of micro tea-stall entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. The qualitative evidence supports relationship between personality traits, business environment, and firm sustainable performance. Findings also suggest that business environment moderates the relationship of personality traits and sustainable performance. Researchers and other academic professionals who are involved in IMEs may apply this model as a useful tool to examine micro-entrepreneurs' capabilities.
