Methods The sample included 297 veterans age 60 or older who were diagnosed with
depression at an outpatient clinic and provided a new antidepressant medication at one of
three VA medical centers in the Detroit metropolitan area. The sample was 64.9 years of age
on average (range 60-86), 97.3% male and 79.1% Caucasian. Participants were
