In this article the author talks about the role of the Western media in highlighting the terrorism in the Middle East. He believes that the media has played a vital role in shaping up the perception of the people of the US towards the political violence in this part of the world. Media has formed a biased image of religious fundamentalists as a result of which a wide gap has cropped up in between the Americans and their understanding towards Islam. Western media has shown mass produced images which are meant to serve a political purpose. He suggests that the media should play a responsible role in influencing the people's thoughts. It should also try to bridge the ideological and cultural gap between the two countries.
