Abstract<? Pub Inc> This thesis focuses on the 90 km rim-diameter, 214 Ma-old
Manicouagan impact structure, Canada. The aim of this thesis is to make a contribution to
the body of knowledge regarding complex crater formation in crystalline target rocks, based
on the study of the centrally uplifted rocks at Manicouagan. Shock veins were generated
during shock wave passage (at impact) and their context within the central uplift provides an
