The aim of this paper is to examine the impact of work engagement of different generations on organisational engagement. In addition, the study seeks to determine whether there is a difference in work engagement and organizational engagement across generations. Data, gathered from a sample of 3 039 employees in Lithuania, were analysed through the Kruskal-Wallis test and the structural equation modelling (SEM). The non-parametric analysis (Kruskal-Wallis test) was performed to determine if there were statistically significant differences between the level of work engagement and the level of organisational engagement of employees across four different generation groups. The multi-group SEM analysis was used for testing the differences in the impact of work engagement of different generations on organisational engagement. The study confirmed the hypothesis that work engagement has a positive impact on organizational engagement for all generations. Moreover, statistically significant differences were found between the level of work engagement and the level of organizational engagement across generations. This study expands current knowledge on the interrelationship between work engagement and organisational engagement. Further, the level of work engagement and organisational engagement revealed in the context of generations makes for a novel contribution to the topic of employees’ engagement in the perspective of different generations.
