Honey samples from various sources and localities in Serbia were collected in 1983-1984,

Abstract
Honey samples from various sources and localities in Serbia were collected in 1983-1984, in May and June 1986 (i.e. shortly after the Chernobyl accident), and in 1987. Pre-1986, the predominant radionuclide present was 40K (0.012% of total potassium); its content in the 3 sample years was 18.5, 23.2 and 12.5 Bq/kg, respectively. The only fission product found pre-1986 was 137Cs (2.4 Bq/kg). In 1986 its content was 68.6-101.0 Bq/kg, but by 1987 it had decreased to 1.8 Bq/kg. Values for 134Cs were 0, 29.9-42.5, 0.76 Bq/kg respectively. 131I, 103Ru and 106Ru were also present in the 1986 samples, but not in the others.
