This correlational study attempted to identify relationships among functional ego states,
locus of control, and dogmatism. The sample consisted of 40 African-American and 40 Anglo-
American undergraduate college students (ages 17–27). The results showed 11 significant
correlations among functional ego states, locus of control, and dogmatism that support the
expectations of ego-state expression.
