The performance of the track-to-track association algorithm using multiscan data is usually thought to be better than that of the track-to-track association algorithm using single scan data. As we know, this conclusion is traditionally obtained intuitively and an exact theoretical analysis has always been searched. In this paper, the performance of the multiscan track-to-track association algorithm in terms of the false association probability is analytically evaluated, which demonstrates that its theoretical performance is indeed better than that of the single-scan track-to-track association algorithm.
