Simple Summary Escherichia coli is a bacterium which infects cow udders causing clinical
mastitis, a potentially severe disease with welfare and economic consequences. During an
infection, white blood cells (leukocytes) enter the udder to provide immune defence and
assist tissue repair. We sequenced RNA derived from circulating leukocytes to investigate
