In this paper, eDC-NC is applied to Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) to enable very rapid recovering from wireless link/node failures and provide low computational and energy cost, which are very important metrics for WSNs. It is shown that utilizing eDC-NC coding in WSNs can provide ultra-reliability with very rapid fault recovery, decrease energy consumption, and increase the network throughput for broadcasting applications.
