indicate that the three complementary duplicate genes Pa, Pb and Pc are localization genes
and are pleiotropic for pigmentation in the four areas. The genes Plm and Pla are involved in
pigmentation of the leaf tip. The gene Pa acts in conjunction with any two of the other four
genes, except the Plm and Pla combination, to control pigmentation of the leaf tip.
