The e-SENSE project aims to provide the enabling technology required to capture the desired ambient intelligence surrounding the users of services and service related objects through a wireless sensor network environment for B3G mobile communication systems. This paper introduces an early reference model for the e-SENSE architecture. Envisioned application spaces are introduced and main aspects of the reference model comprising network, middleware and gateway are presented. Initial concepts of integrating e-SENSE into B3G service platforms are explored.
