The processing and metabolism of amyloid precursor protein (APP) is a major interest in
Alzheimer disease (AD) research, because not only amyloid β (Aβ) peptide, but also cellular
or mitochondrial APP are intimately involved in cellular dysfunction and AD pathogenesis.
