As an action against the probability of such an intervention, news were reported in Istanbul press to criticize the Union and Progress Party. Kara Kemal and his fellows refrained from intervening in the elections in line with the will of Mustafa Kemal Paşa. In this study, we have analyzed in depth the relations of the Unionists with Mustafa Kemal Paşa and the approach of the press towards the Unionists and the Union and Progress Party during the two electoral processes in question based on first-hand sources.
