The development of 5G could make our everyday work considerably more efficient and faster. The majority of transportation networks currently use conventional timetables and technology, which leads to improperly timed lighting, according to IoT Business News. It causes traffic congestion, which lengthens communications. In addition, it costs extra since drivers waste fuel when they stop at red lights. All of this might be altered by 5G technology, which would enable traffic lights to collect real-time information on traffic patterns from cameras, sensors, and drones placed around the smart city. As a result, traffic lights will react more quickly to actual traffic, preventing wasteful stops at red lights and maintaining traffic flow. This has already been put to the test by Carnegie Mellon University, which discovered that the technology may result in a 26% faster trip, a 21% reduction in emissions, and a 40% decrease in traffic stops. Public transportation can use the same technologies too. According to London's smart city plan, bus routes can be planned using data by monitoring how people move about the city. Additionally, data can be used to inform city people in real time about their local air quality in addition to enhancing the commuter experience. Intelligent transportation systems (ITSs) have been developed and put into use during the past few decades to improve safety and accessibility in transportation, address growing environmental concerns, promote sustainable transportation expansion, and boost productivity. ITSs integrate cutting-edge technologies with the contemporary transport network environment, upgrading computer networks, communications, sensors, controllers, and complex mathematical methodologies.
