Participants (N= 149) belonging to real life workgroups from different work organisations
took part in a project with the aim of improving organisational culture. Two techniques for
enhancing effectiveness were used in the study, the individual-group-individual technique
and the nominal group technique. In a control group were participants in nonstructured
interactive groups. Thus, the workgroups were randomised into these 3 conditions. Analysis
indicated that both techniques affect idea generation but not generation of goals.
