A number of the current research about the headers of the sunflower harvesting machine
have been analysed and the main directions of their implementation are outlined. The
design of the improved header is developed, which is designed to reduce the loss of seed
and the height of the stubble on the field which remains after the completion of harvesting
operations. The results of field research of developed and conducted construction are
presented. Directions and fields of further research are outlined.
