A paddle wheel dinuclear Copper (II) carboxylate: crystal structure, thermokinetic and magnetic properties

The reaction of 2-chlorophenylacetic acid with anhydrous copper (II) sulphate in the
presence of pyridine resulted in the formation of [Cu 2 (2-ClC 6 H 4 CH 2 COO) 4 (Py) 2](1).
The complex was characterized by FT-IR and X-ray single crystal analysis. The dinuclear
copper (II) complex has shown a paddle wheel arrangement with four bridging carboxylate
ligands around two copper centers. The axial positions around the paddle wheel copper
