Pheidole exasperata var. concordia and P. exasperata var. fusiformis with P. aglae; P.
multicoma with P. comata; P. havilandi var. sapuana and P. havilandi var. selangorensis
with P. havilandi; P. huberi var. perakensis with P. huberi; P. nodgii r. maxwellensis with P.
magrettii; P. treubi with P. noda. P. nodgii var. tjibodana and P. sauberi subsp. sarawakana …
Abstract
Nine previously described forms of Asian Pheidole species are synonymized, based on the reexamination of the type materials: Pheidole attila is synonymized with P. capellinii; Pheidole exasperata var. concordia and P. exasperata var. fusiformis with P. aglae; P. multicoma with P. comata; P. havilandi var. sapuana and P. havilandi var. selangorensis with P. havilandi; P. huberi var. perakensis with P. huberi; P. nodgii r. maxwellensis with P. magrettii; P. treubi with P. noda. P. nodgii var. tjibodana and P. sauberi subsp. sarawakana are considered to the good biological species. Lectotypes are designated for 31 forms of Asian Pheidole. Either redescription or taxonomic remarks are given for each species.
