The paper summarizes the data from published research and surveys on alfalfa (Medicago
sativa L.) dry matter (DM) yields and crude protein contents in Northeast Spain. The average
DM yields varied from 10.1 to 22.5 t DM ha-1, in irrigated conditions, and from 1.3 to 6.3 t DM
ha-1 in rain fed conditions. The crude protein contents of the crop ranged from 110 to 251 g
kg-1 DM under irrigation and averaged 205 g kg-1 DM in non irrigated areas. The numbers

The crude protein contents of the crop ranged from 110 to 251 g kg-1 DM under irrigation and averaged 205 g kg-1 DM in non irrigated areas.
