Quickly rising cost of fossil fuels, global warming, and CO 2 emissions can all be addressed by using electric vehicles. In electric vehicles, the battery is used to power the electric motor. Due to improved charging methods that are controlled and quick enough, lithium-ion batteries are prominently implemented. A battery charger is designed to charge the battery while considering several factors like capacity, nominal voltage, and state of charge. To maximize the battery’s life cycle and give the necessary quantity of electricity to the EV motor, this paper discusses various charging technologies and their characteristics. The various battery charging types and power levels are introduced. MATLAB Simulation are performed and the results are analyzed for different charging techniques and which technique will be much suitable for on-board charger of the proposed lithium-ion battery (48 volts and 72 Ah capacity) for electric vehicles.
