This paper discuss the possible environmental consequences introduced by the developing industry sector on the surface water resources in Kurdistan region–Iraq by determining the main industrial pollution factors according to the growing industrial modes in the concerned region. In this paper, the assessment was made by classifying the possible industrial polluting sources on the surface water resources according to the types of industrial wastes effluents that are generated during the production of these industries. Such assessments are important to determine the negative impact for the developing industry and to improve the selection for the upcoming industries by choosing the less polluted ones or by enhancing the industrial waste treatment management sectors. A general approach has been made for indexing the quality and the impact of pollution for the surface water resources in the region.
