An immunoenzymatic assay (ELISA), an indirect immunofluorescence antibody test (IFAT)
with different antigens (ELISA-Leishmania chagasi, ELISA-L. major-like, IFAT-L. chagasi and
IFAT-L. major-like), and an immunochromatographic test were assessed for the diagnosis of
canine visceral leishmaniasis (CVL). Serum samples from 144 dogs from an endemic area
