Traian steel bridge is witness of the past, it was built around 1900 and is cantilever structure
made of mild steel. During his life the bridge was rehabilitated several times and now it is
still in operation. The bridge is an historical monument and has an emblematical importance
for the city of Arad. The big problem at the historic bridges is “rehabilitation-versus-
replacement”. The duty of the administration is to keep the structure in function, as moments
of the technical art.
