Background Interstitial cystitis (IC)/bladder pain syndrome (BPS) is an unpleasant sensation
related to the bladder with lower urinary tract symptoms lasting more than 6 weeks,
unrelated to an otherwise identifiable cause. The etiology is likely multifactorial including
