[PDF][PDF] Character association and path analysis in maize (Zea mays L.)

B Raghu, J Suresh, SS Kumar… - Madras Agricultural …, 2011 - masujournal.org
An investigation was carried out on correlation and path analysis for 11 characters of maize
on 45 F1S generated through half diallel fashion, their 10 parents along with two standard
checks raised during rabi, 2008-09. Plant height, ear height, ear girth, number of kernel rows
per ear, number of kernels per row and 100 grain weight showed positive and significant
correlation coefficients with grain yield at genotypic level. While days to 50% tasseling and
days to 50% silking recorded negative and significant association with yield. All other …

Character Association and Path Analysis in Maize (Zea mays L.)

PA Reddy, S Marker, GR Lavanya… - Trends in …, 2013 - indianjournals.com
Correlation coefficients among fifteen yield and yield attributing characters with their path
effects towards grain yield were investigated during kharif, 2009. Characters like ear girth,
ear length, 100 grain weight, number of grains per row and plant height showed positive
significant correlation with yield. The path analysis indicated that ear girth exerted maximum
positive direct effect on grain yield per plant. When both direct and indirect positive
contributions were considered, ear girth and 100 seed weight influenced grain yield per …
