The formation of leaf polarity is critical for leaf morphogenesis. In this study, we
characterized and cloned an Arabidopsis gene, AS1/2 ENHANCER7 (AE7), which is
required for both leaf adaxial–abaxial polarity formation and normal cell proliferation. The
