The results of measurements of initial local-sectional geometric imperfections of steel thin-
walled cold-formed sigma profiles are presented. Width of walls of sigma cross-section and
variations of contour were measured. The measured imperfections were then classified into
different types and compared with buckling modes for compression and bending. Statistical
data processing of the measured values was performed. The results of the study can be
used in post-buckling analyses as perturbation in finite element meshes.
